iPhone Shortcut

Name any movie clip without leaving the app.

Add ClipToMovie to your Share menu once. After that, on any TikTok, YouTube Short or Instagram Reel it's Share → More → ClipToMovie, and the answer slides up over the app.

Build it

You only do this once. Everything happens in Apple's free Shortcuts app.

    Create a new shortcut

    Open Shortcuts, tap + in the top corner, and rename it ClipToMovie.

    Put it in the Share menu

    Tap the ⓘ button at the bottom. Turn on Show in Share Sheet, then set the types it accepts to URLs and Text.

    Add four actions

    Search for each action by name and add them in this order. Blue words are tappable fields; set them as shown.

    In the Text action, paste this link, then tap right after it and pick URL Encoded Text from the suggestions bar so the shared link is added to the end.

    Pin it (optional, recommended)

    Open the Share menu in any app, scroll to the bottom, tap Edit Actions… and add ClipToMovie to Favorites. It then shows up near the top every time.

New clips take about a minute; clips someone already looked up are instant. Swipe the page down to go right back to scrolling.

Good to know

Can I use it without the Share menu?

Yes. Copy a clip's link, then run ClipToMovie from the Shortcuts app, a home-screen icon, or by saying “Hey Siri, ClipToMovie”. It reads the link from your clipboard.

Which apps does it work with?

TikTok, YouTube (Shorts and regular videos) and Instagram Reels, plus Safari. In TikTok and YouTube the iPhone Share menu is behind the “More” or “…” button.

I have Android.

Open www.cliptomovie.com in Chrome and choose Add to Home screen (or Install app). ClipToMovie then appears in Android's Share menu directly.

Does the shortcut see anything else on my phone?

No. It only receives the link you share (or what's on your clipboard when you run it without sharing) and opens it on ClipToMovie.
